<P><FONT face=Arial>HANOI, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam-ASEAN cooperation on human resource development conference was held here Wednesday by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA).</FONT></P> <P><FONT face=Arial>The conference was held to review Vietnam's 15 years in cooperating with ASEAN on human resource development and its ten years in participating in ASEAN and international vocational contests (2001-2010).</FONT></P> <P><FONT face=Arial>According to MoLISA's reports, Vietnam has implemented 12 projects in the framework of the plan of actions on human resource development under Initiative for ASEAN Integration, including ASEAN-JAPAN project on labor relations, project to develop human resource for ASEAN officials, project to research ASEAN Free Trade Area and employment in ASEAN countries.</FONT></P> <P><FONT face=Arial>In 2010, MoLISA undertook three key positions, including Chairman of ASEAN Social-Cultural Community 2010, Chairman of the 21st ASEAN Labor Ministers Meeting (2010-2012), and Chairman of the 6th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting for Social Welfare (2007-2010).</FONT></P> <P><FONT face=Arial>Under the theme "Human resource for economic recovery and development", MoLISA successfully organized six ministerial and related meetings, 16 expert-level meetings, two forums and participated in nearly 20 ASEAN expert-level meetings overseas on immigrant labor, unemployment insurance, labor relations, labor safety and hygiene.</FONT></P> <P><FONT face=Arial>According to MoLISA, Vietnam participated in six ASEAN Vocational Contests and won 35 gold medals, 15 silver medals and 23 bronze medals, 48 certificates for excellent vocational skills in the past ten years. <BR></FONT></P>
